In 1999 I made an original science fiction comic book for french market called “Les Ombres de la Lagune”. It is a mix of horror, sci-fi, detective story, and political fiction, where I put several tributes to films, comics, literature and real people and facts. In this image, that is the splash page of the album you can see the monster of the lagune and in background an Akira New Tokyo looking like futuristic Venice. The input of the story came from an idea by my great friend Salvatore Oliva and adapted for the french market by François Corteggiani.

It’s nice to discover that I set the story in 2017, and that fortunately Venice has still not became like that.
